Siege Monofilament by Sufix
By Keith Kaufman

Sufix Siege monofilament.

It's easy to take fishing line for granted. But the instant something goes wrong, be it a tangle, lousy line performance resulting in a poor cast at a most inopportune time, or line breaking under heavy pressure applied by a big fish, we're painfully reminded just how critically important line is.

Fishing line may look simple enough, but a lot of research and science go into the development of fishing line, especially quality line. In fact, the folks at Sufix Fishing North America have come up with several innovative processes that are used in the production of Siege monofilament line. Unique processes that provide anglers with the line strength, abrasion resistance, and casting distance and accuracy they need for successful, hassle-free fishing.

One of the first things you'll notice is that Siege mono comes on an extra-wide spool. The wide spool is used so the line can be put on the spool in such a way that memory is eliminated, and so the line will come off the spool and onto a reel very smoothly, for tangle-free casting. It's called Advanced Precision Winding.

Patented Technology has enabled Sufix to build into Siege line the combination all anglers are looking for: a thin-diameter line that handles well and casts a long way with pinpoint accuracy, yet still possessing the hook-setting and fish-fighting power needed to conquer big stripers, spadefish and all of our favorite species.

According to Sufix, its Nano Tech Process is "exclusive molecular formulation and bonding process within the proprietary resins." What this means to fishermen is that Siege is very abrasion resistant, enabling anglers to dunk baits or cast lures with great confidence in an among wrecks, bridge pilings, rockpiles, docks, blowdowns and other tough neighborhoods where big fish hang out.

Siege is available in 4- to 50-pound test, covering practically every freshwater and inshore fishing situation we'll encounter. Line colors are clear, smoke, green, silver and neon tangerine, and spool sizes are 100, 300 and 3,000 yards.

In addition to Siege, other lines produced by Sufix include Elite, Superior, Tritanium Plus, Pro Mix and Ice Magic (ice fishing) mono. Sufix also offers Superior mono leaders, Tritanium Plus mono leaders, and Invisiline fluorocarbon leaders.
